Out of the Whirlwind – Week 1
Job is a challenging book. He experienced suffering for no apparent reason (Job 1:8-22), though his friends are certain that he must have done something to deserve it (Job 2:1-12). In the end, God’s response is to remind him of the power, knowledge and sovereignty of God himself. But we are left without a satisfying reason for suffering and questions of justice. If anyone could justify not resting, it would be Jesus. He had three years to start a movement that would change the world. But He still chose to rest. We should follow His example.
24/6 The Rest of God – Pt. 2
Creating a rhythm between work and rest is important. However, we must be sure that we do not confuse “rest” with “leisure.” We can be just as out of balance by not working enough as we can by not resting enough. Sometimes the challenge is trusting God with our rest during the time of harvest.

Our culture is 24/7 pace; it doesn’t work. We are designed to have margin. Declare freedom from this slavery and bring the Sabbath into your life and make it a day of joy. Be still and know that I am God.
