Bless the Lord O My Soul – Week 2

Over and over again the Bible calls us to worship. It is a command to sing and give worth to our Lord. This sure makes sense, because we were created to sing (Psalm 98:7-9). All creation worships The Creator. Jesus even said, if we don’t worship Him the stones will cry out and worship Him (Luke 19:38-40). Worship is a community activity, not only are we to worship together now (Colossians 3:16-17), but it is rooted in the history of…

Bless The Lord O My Soul – Week 1

In response to Easter last week (Jesus victory over death) we worship (Matthew 28:1-10, 16-20). It is important to accept that everybody worships, it is a matter of what/who you worship. That is sacrifice, that is love. In Jeremiah’s letter of Lament he states that God’s Love never ceases (Lamentations 3:22-23). The Hebrew word used there is “hesed;”…

Practicing the Presence of God – Part 4

Where is the Church in Jesus life? Good question, since Jesus only says the word twice. But when He talks about the Church, it is very weighty. We need the Church – to grow, to learn, to love each other. The Church needs us – to encourage each other, to help each other. The Church was born in song, it is an act of worship and God blesses us through the Church as we bless others.

By Grace Through Faith – Pt.8

We are made to worship and if it is not God it will be something else, including our selves. But only God will satisfy. All idols leave us enslaved. Find freedom in the fulfilling worship of Jesus.
