Sermons on 2 Corinthians (Page 2)
Faith And Wonder – Part 1
As we age we tend to forget the faith and wonder surrounding Christmas that we had as children. John marvels in the wonder of the incarnation, and he encourages us to do the same.
That You May Believe – Part 7
“If anyone thirsts…”
In John chapter 7, Jesus makes another “I am” statement. He says he is the “living water.” As we look at our own lives we should ask ourselves what we thirst for, and if we are coming to Jesus to quench that thirst.
Let There Be Light – Pt. 6
Exodus 3:13-15 Acts 2:1-4 2 Corinthians 4:5-7 Ephesians 5:1-13 Ephesians 5:13-21 Numbers 6:24
Let There Be Light – Pt. 1
When the days are short, and it is the darkest time of the year, we do something interesting: we light everything up! God also brought light into the darkness in creation. He brought light forth simply by His word. The word of God is powerful, and the scale of His creation is immense. But He still wants to be involved in the smallest details in each of our lives. He wants to be able to exercise His creating power in our lives.
Apostles Creed – Heaven
There are many things in the human life that indicate that we are made for something different. We are citizens of heaven.
Apostles Creed – Jesus
Real love requires sacrifice. That is just what Jesus did. He sacrificed so that we may be reconciled. Gods plan of our reconciliation is something angels long to look on.
Our Tent, Our Task – Pt.2
We should be motivated for the lost and motivated by our new life. We should be motivated to be Jesus ambassador.
Out Tent, Our Task – Pt.1
We are an intersection between the physical and spiritual world. Even though our bodies are temporary tents, we are being renewed day by day preparing us to take possession of a greater dwelling in heaven. So while on earth we are called to serve Jesus to the best of our ability.
Why I Give
Three things that motivate generosity (a Christian Virtue). Let it be your legacy.
Storyline – Easter
Through the great story line of the universe (creation-fall-redemption-restoration) Jesus completes us and we are the continuation of the story.
Storyline – Restoration
Though this world is broken we can be reconciled with God. In that reconciliation we are being transformed and restored. In the same restoration we will be fully restored to a glorified state when Jesus the perfect king and judge returns. We are not home yet.
Storyline – Creation
Stories are meaningful. Stories are moving. Stories play a huge part in our lives in the day to day all the way up to changing ones life forever. We resonate with stories. There is one true story that tells all stories, it makes the most sense of the world. The story of the Bible. Today Creation. In the beginning God created.
