Even in the healthiest of relationships there is conflict. Paul writes a beautiful and powerful guide to the broken church of Corinth. From it we can learn the power of and importance of love. Have hope, be kind and extend grace, always fueled by our our future hope promised by our Lord.

How is your walk with the Lord. Let me tell you about a time when Peter needed some correction from Paul about drifting from a message of Grace and falling into the trap of rules and works. The Gospel should effect how we live (humble, graceful an in truth) not bound to a set of rules.

We have deep desires and passions and we need to look to Jesus to fulfill them. In your marriage chose ministry over manipulation. Make some practical rules about how you resolve conflict before you are in one.

“You will never be asked to forgive someone as much as God has already forgiven you.”

James 4:1-8 says when we quarrel, our passions are at war within us. Our need for our individual self and our need for our relationship.
This week at Liferoads, we discussed the importance of navigating conflict well and even growing from it. How when we allow God to complete us, as said in Colossians 2:9 (Amplified Bible), we are able to approach an argument without expecting, forcing or manipulating a flawed spouse to meet all our needs, but with more of a ministry mindset in which we strive to meet their needs. We offer forgiveness and grace, rooted in the security and strength Christ has given us, so we can love each other with all the best parts of ourselves.
