We are all a part of a family, and the Bible teaches us how to live wisely in families. Family is vital, and family is vulnerable (Proverbs 27:8). It is a critical part of our social and personal foundation. It has a deep influence in our lives, for good and sometimes not so good (Proverbs 6:16-19). It begins with honor and respect (Exodus 20:12). There is a structure to families, and discipline matters (Proverbs 23:13-14) (Proverbs 22:6); discipline comforts and protects (Psalm 23:4).

Finally, and most importantly, families forgive! We all fall short, and the Lord heals through forgiveness. Just as Christ forgave first, so also we should forgive (Ephesians 4:31-32).

Search the scriptures for wisdom (Acts 17:11).

Rooted in Acts 4:1-31, the sermon examines how Peter and John boldly proclaimed Christ before the powerful Sanhedrin, even after facing imprisonment and threats. Their courage came not from their own strength but from dependence on the Holy Spirit and prayer. The disciples’ prayer for boldness—despite opposition—reminds us that God is sovereign, and He calls us to trust Him, even when evangelism feels daunting.

This message challenges us to practice boldness:

Where is the Church in Jesus life? Good question, since Jesus only says the word twice. But when He talks about the Church, it is very weighty.

We need the Church - to grow, to learn, to love each other.
The Church needs us - to encourage each other, to help each other.

The Church was born in song, it is an act of worship and God blesses us through the Church as we bless others.
