We are often trying to carry too much. Here are three things we need to put down and three things we need to pick up.
Sex is God’s Idea. God created the world, he created us, and he created sex, but it needs to have boundaries or it can be very damaging. Sex is beautiful and can glory God in a marriage.
We have deep desires and passions and we need to look to Jesus to fulfill them. In your marriage chose ministry over manipulation. Make some practical rules about how you resolve conflict before you are in one.
The cultural view of marriage is a magical feeling, but we need to understand it is a covenant. A strong marriage is united with God and with effort produces fruit abundant.
Through the great story line of the universe (creation-fall-redemption-restoration) Jesus completes us and we are the continuation of the story.
Though this world is broken we can be reconciled with God. In that reconciliation we are being transformed and restored. In the same restoration we will be fully restored to a glorified state when Jesus the perfect king and judge returns. We are not home yet.
This is the story of the Bible, the biggest story ever told. God created an unbroken world and it is no longer the way it should be because of sin. Jesus has redeemed us at a great cost purchasing you from slavery. How grateful are you? How does this effect your life?
Why isn’t the world the way it should be? Well, the answer is sin. It all began at the fall. This event from Genesis has an impact to this day, globally, relationally and personally. Until sin is bitter Christ will not be sweat.
Stories are meaningful. Stories are moving. Stories play a huge part in our lives in the day to day all the way up to changing ones life forever. We resonate with stories. There is one true story that tells all stories, it makes the most sense of the world. The story of the Bible. Today Creation. In the beginning God created.
One could say that Peter’s relationship with Jesus was an emotional roller-coaster, moments of historically spiritual highs and lows. We often project Jesus as having a negative attitude toward our failures, but we see from His relationship with Peter that isn’t the case. Offer your whole self and be redeemed by Jesus to be used for His good.
Jesus asks, to what benefit is gaining the world? We must understand that Christianity is not a warm blanket, it is the Cross. Deny yourself, take up your cross and follow me, Jesus said. It is the only repair for our broken happiness-detector. Choose Jesus and be transformed.
Who do you think Jesus is? That is a question with an enormous impact. He is Lord and Savior.
